1 – HOW TO APPLY

 

Where is the Visa section of the Mongolian Embassy?

The Visa section is located at basement level of 8 Kensington court, London W8 5DL

 

1.2 – Can I apply by mail or online?

No. The Embassy does not have dedicated provisions and therefore applications sent by post shall not be processed. The applicant should come in person or apply through an authorized subject. Additionally, the applications can be lodged via visa agencies as Real Russia (http://realrussia.co.uk), Almont (http://www.almonttravel.co.uk) and others that strictly follow the Embassy’s visa requirements.

 

1.3 – I am applying for visas for my family, i.e.; myself, my spouse and my child(ren). Do we all need to be present?

No. One of the adults may bring all the documents on behalf of the other family members.

 

1.4 – Could you let me know what documents I need to bring with me to apply for a Tourist visa?

  • Passport-with a validity exceeding the applicant’s last day of stay by six months
  • Visa Application Form- fully completed, signed and dated
  • Photo-most recent passport size one glued on the form
  • Supporting Documents-Travel itinerary, hotel reservation and insurance confirmation
  • Visa fee and Service charge

 

1.5 – Could you let me know what documents I need to bring with me to apply for a Business visa?

  • Passport-with a validity exceeding the applicant’s last day of stay by six months
  • Visa Application Form- fully completed, signed and dated
  • Photo-the most recent passport size one glued on the form
  • Supporting Documents-the invitation of the host approved by either the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia or Immigration Authority of Mongolia. The travel itinerary, hotel reservation and insurance are appreciable
  • Visa fee and Service charge

 

1.6 – I am a UK citizen, but currently I am travelling/residing in another country. Is it possible to apply through a Mongolian consulate in other countries i.e. Hong Kong, Beijing, Singapore?

Yes, it is possible. You may apply for a visa at the closest Mongolian Consulate located in the country where you are travelling or residing in. Do enquire directly to them for working hours.

 

1.7 – I am an Australian citizen. Can I apply for a visa to travel to Mongolia through the Mongolian Embassy in London and what are the visa requirements for the Australian citizens?

Citizens of countries, with no visa waiver agreement with Mongolia, that legally residing in UK, are eligible to apply for a visa at the Embassy provided that they satisfied the visa requirements.

 

1.8 – Do I need to submit original documents in support of my application?

The Embassy reserves the right to ask original documents. If the applicant produces the original and its copies, however, we may return the original after a scrutiny. Documents must be presented when the application is submitted.

 

1.9 – Do I need to submit my original passport for submission of application?

You must submit your original passport when you apply for a visa. No passport-no visa.

 

1.10 – Do I need to make an appointment for submitting my visa application?

No. You do not need to make an appointment. You just have to come between 10:00-12:00 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays to submit your application, except on Mongolian public holidays.

 

1.11 – Can you post the passport after issuing a visa?

No. The applicant should come in person or ask immediate family member or authorized person to collect the passport.

 

2-VISA PROCESSING AND VISA FEE PAYMENT

 

2.1 – When can I apply?

The visa section is open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays between 10:00-12:00.

 

2.2 – How much does a single entry visa cost and how quickly can a visa application be processed?

The standard single entry visa costs £40 and it is processed within 3 working days. The expedited single entry visa costs £60 and it is processed within the same day.

 

2.3 – How can I make the visa fee payment?

Please note that we do not accept a cheque, credit/debit card or cash for the Visa fee and Service charge. You have to pay or make a bank transfer to Embassy’s bank account.

If you have payed or made a bank transfer already, we require applicants to bring bank receipt or printed internet banking payment confirmation.

Alternatively, the applicant shall be given a pay slip when he/she lodges the visa application and asked to make the payment at a bank branch located at a walking distance from the Embassy and provide the receipt to the Visa Officer immediately to commence the visa issuing process.

 

2.4 – Can I get a refund if my visa refused or if I withdraw my visa application?

No. Once the process commenced on the system, fees are not refundable for neither refusal nor withdrawal.

 

2.5 – At what days and times can I collect my passport?

You can collect your passport between 16:00 – 16:30 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays (except Mongolian public holidays)

 

2.6 – What shall I do if there is a misspelling or mistyping error on my visa?

We do experience some misspelling or mistyping due to a digit mis-scanning. Please bring the passport to the Visa Section immediately for a correction.
