General information for visa


The Embassy’s Visa Section is renewing its timetable effect from Monday, 18 August 2014 as follows:

Working days: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

Opening hours: 10.00 am – 12.00 pm (except public holidays)

So please arrange your visit to the Visa Section accordingly.

The Visa Section will be closed on weekends and the following National holidays.

  • 1st of January (New year)
  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd day of the Moon Calendar new year (varies every year in January or February)
  • 8th of March (International Woman’s Day )
  • 1st of June (Children’s Day)
  • 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th of July (Naadam festival)
  • 29th of December (Independence Day)
  • 1st day of the First Winter month by Lunar Calendar (Chinggis khaan’s day)

The following materials are required to obtain the Mongolian visa:

For Tourist visa for 30 days
it is required to submit:

  1. Passport with a validity date at least six months beyond the end of the applications intended period of stay in Mongolia
  2. Completed visa Application Form for Tourists with one passport size photo,
  3. Travel itinerary, hotel reservation and insurance are preferable

For Business Visas for 30 day or less
it is required to submit:

  1. Passport with a validity date at least six months beyond the end of the applications intended period of stay in Mongolia,
  2. Completed visa Application Form for non-tourists with one passport size photo,
  3. Invitation from the inviting organization which should be approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.

A visa application can be submitted by the following:

1) Applicant him/herself.
2) Immediate family member of the applicant or authorized person
3) If the applicant is unable to come in person, applications can be lodged via only Real Russia or OBT (Embassy’s accredited agents)
4) Please note that applications sent by post shall not be processed.

PS: Please note that we do not accept a cheque or credit/debit card. You have to pay or make a bank transfer to below bank account. Or you can pay in cash when you submit your visa application. In case of paying or making bank transfer, we will require applicants to bring bank receipt or printed internet banking payment confirmation as a payment for visa fee.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Mongolia and the Embassy of Mongolia in London in collaboration with the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development are organising the “Europe-Mongolia Investors’ Forum” to be held on 3 December 2009 at the EBRD Headquarters in London, United Kingdom.
